Durga Das Rathore

Durga Das Rathore was a leading Rajput noble of Marwar (Jodhpur) who became famous for resisting Mughal control during Emperor Aurangzeb’s time.

• He belonged to the Rathore clan, the ruling clan of Marwar, and served as a loyal protector of the Marwar royal family and its right to rule independently.
• After the death of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, Aurangzeb tried to tighten Mughal control over Marwar. Durga Das emerged as a key organiser of resistance when Marwar’s succession became a political struggle.
